Booking estimates instead of taking messages

There is a large difference between an answering service and an office, and it is this: one takes a message, the other books the estimate.

A message means the work is still yours. You call back, you play phone tag, you quote, you schedule, you add them to the route. The call got answered and nothing got done.

Booking means the customer has a date before they hang up, the property is in the system with its address and size, and tomorrow's route already includes them. Nothing lands in your evening.

The reason most services cannot do it is that they do not own your calendar. They are a call centre bolted onto a company they cannot see into. If the answering service cannot see your route, it can only take notes.

That is the whole argument for running both together — the phone and the schedule in one place, so somebody who wants a price before they will book turns into a stop on a route rather than a sticky note.
